One of my favorite films is David Lynch’s Blue Velvet from 1986. One song from the soundtrack features the line “She wore blue velvet”. Throughout the film a motif is blue velvet fabric. The female protagonist wears a dress made from it. In addition, the opening title screen features a blue velvet backdrop. I took this lyric and created a postcard that fits the mood of the movie, as well as the song and the corresponding time period, the early 60’s.
